2025–2026 New Student Personal Device Procedures

Important Update: 2025–2026 Student Personal Device Procedures
 
Redwater ISD is implementing new Student Personal Device Procedures this school year to align with Texas House Bill 1481. This update is a statewide mandate from the legislature, not a local RISD decision.
 
During the school day (8:00 AM–3:45 PM), students may not use:
• Cellphones
• Smartwatches
• Headphones/Earbuds
• Any personal device not issued by RISD
 
Devices must be stored in backpacks, locked lockers, or turned into the office. Use is allowed before and after school. Use is not allowed during class, lunch, in restrooms, or passing periods.
 
How can parents help?
• Talk to your student about appropriate phone use
• Keep school records current with your contact information
